Sunday Social

I am linking up with Neely and Ashley today. I will have posts this week featuring the #beautybash by Benefit and Birchbox party I had...stay tuned!!

1. What is your favorite magazine to read? Ummmmm....
Cosmo has been my favorite magazine since high school and I stopped reading Cosmogirl! The articles are intriguing and the naked boys are always hot.

2. What is the best thing you’ve seen online lately?
I really enjoyed this.

3. Who is your favorite celebrity to follow on Instagram or Twitter?
AJ from BSB, Lauren Conrad and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting

4. Is there one article of clothing no matter what the season you can’t help but love?
Usually it's a scarf. Even if it's a million degrees out, I find a way to wear one. Mind you I live in Wisconsin, where it gets so effing hot during summer you feel like you're melting. It's fun.

5. Do you prefer email or snail mail?
I love getting mail, but I would rather send an email. I guess that's what happens when you're a social media/computer/all new tech gadgets person.

Moral of the story: Being afraid of heights can get you really good seats.

I said when I came back I would tell you the story about how the Twin Cities Backstreet Boys show turned out.

Today is the day.

Everyone knows how obsessed I am with the Backstreet Boys. I mean, I really like them. Like, a lot. See here and here.

I bought tickets to the Backstreet Boys "In a World Like This" tour in April. It was my "oh geez, you actually graduated" present to myself.

When you're road tripping to a concert, you obviously have to write on your windows.
We also ended up putting "Honk if you love BSB" on the windows too. People honked. BSB still has it.
When we went to wait in line to get in, I saw a man who was interviewing people that were at the show. Shelby and I swore that we heard him say the best story gets backstage passes. So right when he was putting stuff away, I ran over there and told him that I heard that he asked a couple if they would change their wedding song to a Backstreet Boys song. I lied to the guy and told him that Beardy and I decided on "I Want It That Way" for our wedding song. It literally was the first song that popped into my head. Obviously, we didn't have a BSB song as our wedding song, but I did fit two songs of theirs in during the course of the wedding day...but don't tell the dude. Also, he wasn't giving away backstage passes.

When I ordered tickets, the website had a little virtual tour that you could look at where your seats were. I went with the almost cheapest seats. The virtual tour made it look like it was totally do-able to get to them.

Yeah. No.

Shelby went down to the seats, which were in the first row of the tippy tippy top of the venue. Like, so high up, I felt like I was going to pass out. I felt like such a bitch at this time but I called to Shelby and told her that I wasn't going to be able to walk down to the seats. My fear of heights had kicked in. Frantically, I told the nice man who was letting everyone in that I couldn't make it to my seat and that I needed to talk to someone ASAP to see if I could get a different seat. He told me to find Martha (not her real name, but whatevs) and ask her. Shelby and I immediately found her and she asked for our tickets. She went behind a desk and pulled out two new tickets and said "this is the best I can do." Shelby and I look at our tickets and realize that we have to go downstairs. To the 100 level. We started freaking out.

Our seats were 15 rows from the side of the stage.
FIFTEEN ROWS.

The rest of the night was a complete blur. Avril didn't suck and this show was literally the best show I had ever been to. I cried way too many times to count and could kick myself for not running down to the front to hug AJ at the end of the show.
At the beginning of the show Nick said he wanted everyone to scream and dance like it was 1999. So I did just that. I had no voice at the end of the show. This 2014 show seriously trumped that 1999 show.

5 days until the #BeautyBash!

Because Birchbox and Benefit were so gracious to choose me for this party (I was 1 out of 500 chosen) I figured I would should you my thought process of planning a party. This party seems a lot less stressful than the last party I planned... (wink, wink...)

The color palette I chose for the party was pretty easy...obviously I am obsessed with glitter.... #basic, I know. I then went with "Birchbox Pink" and a pretty pink that is similar to the branding of Benefit Cosmetics.

My guests will be drinking wine and eating appetizers whilst playing games like Wing-o and Flattergories. (Cute, guys...cuuuute!)

I already have made a glitter wine bottle, glitter stemware, and a dollar tree to fabulous gold polka dotted tray.

Beardy found two surprise types of wine last night when we were grocery shopping. That will be a surprise for Saturday.  Let's just say they will be easy to accessorize with our outfits.

To the gals I met on Instagram or anyone else that is hosting one of these, what was your thought process for decorating?

Friday, Friday, Fridayyyyyy.

Trying to blog everyday since my facelift...let's see how long this lasts!
I'm linking up today with:
Amanda with Meet @ the Barre (Friday Favorites)
Leslie with A Blonde Ambition (Confessional Friday)
Lauren Elizabeth (High Five Friday)
Karli with September FARM (Oh Hey, Friday)

So here are my five things:
1. Six years ago today I was flying home for a friend's wedding. Little did I know I was going to meet my future husband that night. I still cannot believe that the wedding that I wasn't supposed to be in is where I met my husband. Things do happen for a reason.

2. I cannot wait to buy a house with Beardy. I am ready to have a space we can call our own and we can decorate how we see fit. I hope one day soon we can start looking for a house.

3. Every time I chat with the community editor of Cosmo, I fangirl a little bit. Cosmo is my dream and I feel like making connections with the editors is a step closer to my dream.

4. I am excited for Fall 2014 TV. The most excited I am is for Big Bang Theory. It moved nights so Beardy and I can watch it together! I love Kaley. She's been my favorite actress since like, 8 Simple Rules. Also, BB16 is almost over, that means that summer is officially over.

5. I was chosen by Birchbox and Benefit to host a #BeautyBash party! I am so excited to host the party and cannot wait to show you what each of my girls I invited got!!
Now my confession for the week is: I am going to try and bring fun content to this blog. I am so proud of what I did yesterday with the design and I really needed something to do with my free time. I have way too much!!!

Random Favorite: The I Heart Nick Carter show on VH1 makes me so happy. Beardy has sat through both episodes and I cannot believe he has done that. I now am bringing up the whole Backstreet Boy concert thing and seeing if he would go with....(highly unlikely.)

I also find it amusing that every time they show a BSB member they caption it with the name and "bandmate" I mean, we know who the Backstreet Boys are, don't we?

Have you seen I Heart Nick Carter? Do you love the Backstreet Boys?

Let's do a real blog post. CURRENTLY...

Buying. I have this thing with Wildflower Cases. I absolutely adore them...they are so cute and I just bought my first one for my iPhone 5.

Eating. Nothing, I really need to make dinner...I'm all domestic now and stuff.

Loving. My husband. He seriously is the best thing that has ever happened to me. No matter what kind of mood I am in, he always can get me to laugh, he loves me when I am in one of those "blah" times and he eats my cooking no matter how burnt it is.
Watching. Spice World! Zig-ah-zig-ah!

Looking Forward To. My bestie's wedding. She's getting married in December! Also maybe Oktoberfest. (It's a huge deal in my hometown...like huge...) I am hoping to actually go down to the fest grounds and "party" a little bit. I guess time will tell.

Thinking About. Life in general. Ever since the wedding, the world is a little more uncertain to me. My grandfather died right after the wedding (passed two weeks after) and it just showed me how fast life can disappear. Right now life is the least busy I have been in years. I don't have a full-time job, I am graduated and the DIY projects I had going on are finished...obvi...they were all for the wedding. Beardy tells me life is good right now and no matter how hard I try and see that, I still find the "bad" even if it's something as tiny as things that didn't happen the day of the wedding or shoulda, coulda, wouldas of other life events. I am hoping I get out of this funk soon! One of my coworkers seems to believe it's because I don't have a purpose right now. I have always been the student, trying to get that degree that I never thought would have been possible. I am the first one in my family to have a higher education degree. It was a big deal. She seems to think I need to get pregnant...no babies, as of yet!!! Another cat? Perhaps. Warhol needs a friend.

So what are you currently doing?

Looking a little different around here?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin!!

Hi everyone! So I really have been sucking at the whole "blogging" thing.

I just wasn't really feeling my blog title or anything about it...so in light of me trying to figure out HTML for the first time since MYSPACE...(yes, I loved myspace back in the day) I did this whole blog by myself! I am so proud of me!

We have a new name and a new blogging url. So now save BEARDY HEART BEAUTY and follow along as I am a married woman now!
