I have found my calling. Professional Wine-o.
But seriously, wine tasting is a blast.
Last weekend we went to Green Bay for my sisters 20th birthday and while my sister was getting a surprise Horse Trail ride, my mom and I went to a local winery.
3 dollars for 7 tastings? Done.
This is your brain on wine. Blurry. Thanks mom.
There was a glass window in the floor to look in the wine cellar. It was kind of awesome.
Mom and I trying the wines, we really did have fun.
So all in all, I am a little obsessed with wine tastings now and will continue to see what Wisconsin has to offer. Obvi it's not Napa Valley, but it will do for the time being.
Oh and for your viewing pleasure, a giraffe.
With a blue tongue.
Eating a leaf.

Wedding Wednesday! What we are nix-ing.

How is it already Wednesday again? I know, I know, I haven't been posting like a good girl.
Life just gets busy, ya dig?
Everyone knows I have been planning my wedding on and off for 4 years.
Yes, I am literally the 5 year engagement.
It will be 5 years by the time we get married next August.
Because the whole wedding experience isn't exactly "new" we decided that we aren't going to do a few things.
1. Engagement Photos.
Yeah, it would have been nice to have, but we never did it in the first place, so it would be kind of pointless being all like "OMG, We're engaged!!"
Spoiler Alert: Everyone already knows.
I'm pretty much Mrs. Beardy already.
2. Save-the-Dates
That's what Facebook is for.
It's such a waste of trees, so why waste them?
I did see a "Finally, Beardy and Mrs. Beardy..." but I really would rather spend the STD money on something for the wedding.

3. Wedding Favors.
Every wedding I have been to I ate the Wedding Favor. (Yes, it was chocolate.)
The only wedding favor that my family got good use of was a shot glass.
Which isn't cheap, if you ask me.
So we said nope. Not happening.
4. Unity Candle, Unity Sand, Unity whatever.
Beardy and I decided that it's a waste of money to get a candle all so everyone "unites."
Meh. Honestly, we are as united as we can get.
(Not knocking it, just not doing it.)
5. Cake
Yep, we ain't doing no 5 tiered cake.
What is the point of having 4 lbs of cake left over? Not everyone likes cake.
I hate cake.
Instead, Beardy wants to help in some way so he's gunna make pies.
Boom. Much cheaper.
We will, however, do the bouqet toss, the garter toss, the dollar dance and the Cupid Shuffle.
Sue me.

I rock the adult years.

I remember when I was younger how bad I wanted to be in my twenties.
It looked like such a fun time. I mean, you got to order Bloody's and go out on weekends!!

Well, clearly, I totally got this adult thing down...
I watch Arthur everyday. 10 AM bishs.

I eat fro yo for supper.
Sorry, Tuesday? I can't.
It's a sickness really.

And I may or may not be the most pickiest person ever?
I could eat this everyday of my life:

Being an adult is the best.

I may be a bridezilla when...

I will be the first to admit.
I want my wedding to be perfect.
Okay, not perfect...but pretty damn close to perfect.
Annd I think I have already been considered a bridezilla.
The Bridezilla Diaries: Is Being a Crazy Bride Inevitable?: Weddings: glamour.com
I can't help it if I want the whole bridal party to start to get to know each other...so I started a FB chat...
or that I want the bridal party to do a sync'd dance to a 90s song...
or that we are having a cash bar....yeah, I went there.
I'm not paying for you to get drunk and puke on my shoes.
I also may start a bridal party sweat shop Pinterest party while I DIY everything from flowers to table decor.
I also may or may not have told my mom "no" to having the JAIL cater our wedding...
Black stripes do not go with the theme of the wedding...

I still think I am being pretty reasonable.
Let's talk in 6 months and see where I'm at on the Bridezilla meter...

Wedding Wednesday! Venue? Booked!

I put it in my May Book. It's offical.
This is going to be a thing now. Until I get married, I will try and give updated on Wednesdays about the wedding.
Yes, I am rather excited about this. It's been four years in the making.
So, last week we made the venue offical.
We were looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
We checked out a few venues, but nothing was really keeping our attention. They were literally big open spaces. Borring.
Until here.
The Pump House has always been a favorite of mine in our city.
It hosts art shows and theatre events. It smells like theater and has repurposed parts of the old post office/city hall into it.
The doors say "Men's Toilet" when in all reality it's the front door. Or the theater door says "Witness Room"...
The stairs up to the theatre are beautiful and will make for some amazing pictures I think.
This is (a rather blurry pic I'm sorry!!) of the reception hall. There will be art all over the walls and the exposed brick gives a rather beautiful touch. (It's like built in decorations!!)
This is one of the newest parts of the PH. They have been rebuilding parts of La Crosse for a while now and this has such an Urban feel. I love it.
There are even foot steps in the pavement teaching you how to dance.
 Beardy so may need this.
The PH has a beautiful courtyard as well, which I am hoping guests can mingle outside if it's nice enough!!
Boom. The first part of my checklist done.
I am in love with the venue and for the price, it's just perfect for our wedding.
I would have loved a barn wedding, but living in the midwest, you'd think there would be cheaper barns around. Nope.
I am very please with what we do have. Now onto the dress finding! Eep. That's one thing I am worried about!
What do you think of our choice of the venue?
Are you as excited as I am?

Wedding Wednesdays!!

Wedding Wednesdays. Omg. Is it finally happening?
After being engaged for four years, Beardy and I put the deposit down on the venue yesterday!
I'll hold for your applause and dancing around the room.
So let's talk wedding colors.
When I planned my wedding the first time, I wanted a Sex and the City theme.
Then the second time I wanted Peacock theme.
You see a pattern?
Well, this time I decided I wanted a "Southern-y" feel.
and Gold accents (for the decor.)
I will be wearing silver colors (maybe white gold). Gold-gold is not good on me.
I made a mood board the other night, mostly explaining what I am envisioning.
This picture of the wedding party is what solidified that I wanted the girls in different colors. Annd the guys in grey.
The venue we have is surrounded by brick so I loved that this is pretty much our wedding.
So here's to wedding planning! Excuse me while I go pinterest things.
