My love story!!!

Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. – Emily Bronte
Linking up today with From Mrs. To Mama!
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
It will be four years in October. Three years engaged in May.
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?
Three weeks after I moved out to San Francisco, I flew back to be in my friend's wedding. This was September of 2008. Then, I was what I like to call a "make-out hussy." I was not looking for a boyfriend and loved my flavors of the week. I was the last bridesmaid standing up for my friend. It was a beautiful day in September on her family's farm.
I made a great impression on my now fiance's family the night of the rehearsal dinner. Jet lagged and lost, I rolled into the field where the wedding was held an hour late. They were already lined up and ready to walk back down the aisle.
At the rehearsal dinner, I was officially introduced to my now fiance, Mike. He was the one mooning us on the way to the hotel and eating the whole entire shrimp; tails and all at dinner. He seemed like a goofball. Strangely enough, I wasn't attracted to him when I first met him.
The day of the wedding, I was still jet lagged and exhausted from sleeping on the floor.
The wedding was perfect, beautiful and we couldn't have prayed for a better day. All that was left was the dinner and dance, where I was pretty positive I was going to get to know the Best Man.
Mike, was a total sweetheart, but I wasn't really into it. He tried to teach me how to line dance. I sat on the floor. He was rather drunk at the wedding, with his groomsman gift, a beer stein, always full. After his attempt of trying to teach me how to dance, I went to find the Best Man. The Best Man was drunk enough now not to care about who he was with, but I thought I really wanted to be with this guy. Mike's last attempt before I got to the Best Man's hotel room was when he asked me if I was okay. I said yes, just as the Best Man was dragging me up to the hotel room. Nothing happened up at the hotel room. (Being serious!) We made out and he tried to unzip my dress. After he revealed that he didn't know my name, I knew I had to leave. Mike, walked in just as I was zipping up my dress and walking out. Mike wasn't done trying to flirt. His last pick up lines were: "I know your name ELIZABETH" and "I am a bouncer at a bar." I gave him my number. He gave me his.
I flew back Monday and on my way back on the BART to the city, I texted Mike. It was the best decision I ever made.
3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell
Yep!! obviously. :)
4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
It will be a biggerish wedding and I hope to get married in our town...but sometimes I think it would be much easier to elope!!!
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Mumfy, Goose, Butt, Baby-cakes... Mike mostly calls me butt...no idea why.
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
Silly. Smart. I love that he can deal with my bad days.
7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
We got engaged in Vegas on vacation. I was completely oblivious to the fact that Mike was hiding the biggest question in our life. Vegas was our first big vacation: sun, pool and slots.
It was the day after our eight month anniversary. That day we had the best meal at Margaritaville, money was no object. It was the perfect day. That night Mike insisted on going to Paris. As a fashionista who was in love with Paris, I didn't deny. We got ready and left the hotel room. While in the hall, Mike said that he forgot his wallet. I didn't think anything of it. We had talked about how we wanted to get engaged before, but it never dawned on me that he would be proposing. We got to Paris Hotel and got our tickets. At this point I was a little suspicious, so I tried to search his pockets for a ring box. I couldn't find one. We slowly went up on the tower on the elevator. I am scared of heights, so I was starting to hyperventilate. When we got to the top, we got off and started to look around. The view was breathtaking. Mike started to talk "you are so beautiful and I love you so much" (this is when he pulled out my ring) "and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" I fell to my knees, so he didn't get to get down on one knee...but it was pretty magical.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Flowers for sure. But we don't really celebrate val-day much...the first val-day we had together, he got a tattoo. Yep. I am the best girlfriend in the world.
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Sunset on the beach would be AMAZING. I love sun.
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I would love to go on a cruise somewhere. I think that would be super romantic and fun. Maybe backpacking through Europe...(okay, no...but still.)
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
He probably is working so nothing, but that's okay. We can celebrate our love any
day!!
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I want a new pair of Steve Madden shoes... or Marc Jacobs. Obvi!!
13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Make sure you never go to bed mad.
14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.
This was the first time I came home to see him.
