Bloody Mary and getting carded.

My brother, Joshua is one of my best friends. He is four years younger than me and is probably one of the most closed minded people you would meet. (That's besides the point...ha) He is an old soul who listens to Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr. He says VietnAm, (rhymes with Spam, not CD-Rom) and recently turned 21.
Today, we went out for dinner and both ordered bloodys. The waiter turns to me and says can I see your ID? AND THEN JOSHUA DOESN'T GET CARDED!

So here is the question. How old does my brother look?
Happy Oscar Night!

Warhol Wednesday on Thursday!

Warzy got some kisses while I was working on a new post (involving lipstick) and he was kind of angry about his pink fur.

Aaaand for my readers who are obsessed with my babies, here is Oz-Face....who is growing up way tooooo fast. (Oh, and for those who are wondering, I am STILL missing my mascara.)

myGlam bag Feb 2012!

myGlam is similar to Birchbox, started by youtube Guru Michelle Phan who was getting bombarded with questions about products. She started myGlam only a couple months ago and they are already sold out/on waitlists. I was immediately drawn to myGlam because of the bag you got with each of your subs.

1. First, I got some chocolates from Ghirardelli, which if you know is based out of San Francisco, so that made me think of my home away from home. Holla, SF! Miss your fog! ;)

2. I also received a full size NYX rollerball eye shimmer. This product retails for about 5.00. I was excited to try a NYX product, but am not a fan of the seafoam color I received. Green really isn't my color.

3. This months bag is adorbs! The bag is hot pink with black hearts... I know I will be using this in my purse for sure.

4. These dead sea products are supposed to be pretty fab, not that excited about them, but I love new face products.

5. 100.00 to NUME (which is a hair website where you can get extensions and straighteners) I honestly won't use it because even though they gave us a 100.00 off card, the straighteners are still hella expensive.

6. X OUT Shine Control is supposed to control shine. I still haven't tried it, but it seems like a cross between a primer and an acne control medication.

7. Lastly, we get a sample of a hydration mask. I love these little foil packets because you can try multiple masks until you find what you like.

So far I wasn't THAT impressed with myGlam, the December bag was something that was amazing, so I was hoping it would be just like that, but sadly it wasn't. I hope they step up their game, because I really love trying new products...it's like your birthday when you get your subs in the mail!

Birchbox unboxing Feb 2012!

Birchbox was a little bit of a disappointment this month. After seeing everyone else's boxes, I thought that they could have done a little better. Nevertheless, I will keep subbing to them because I love new makeup/skincare finds.
(these descriptions are all taken from the website)

1. colorescience pro Mineral Bronzer Face Color in Kissed By The Sun
When we first started experimenting with self-tanners, we ended up looking like Oompa Loompas way more often than we’d like to admit. Lesson learned: these days, we turn to this natural mineral bronzer to get a healthy glow year-round. The rich brown shade works on ladies of all complexions, and the formula has a skin-friendly dose of sun protection.

2. Eye Rock Designer Liner
As much as we love winged liner, we’re not so crazy about how much effort it usually requires. Shaky wrists and runny liquid formulas conspire to drain our time and energy, which is why we’re glad we discovered these handy stick-on appliques. Each pack comes with four different designs, ranging from classic cat eyes to bold runway-inspired styles.

3. Free tracks from Greenriver Ordinance....shout out to whoever said it on twitter during the Grammys about country singers being hipsters....but its true, a lot of country (okay, like, two...Band Perry and these guys) are hipstery looking.

4. Probably the best part of the box. A heart shaped emery board. That's just beyond cute.

5. Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint
Our entire team (minus the manfolk) is obsessed with Jouer’s Luminizing Moisture Tint and we're not alone — Allure recently gave the product its coveted "Best in Beauty" seal.  The oil-free formula feels positively weightless on but gives you plenty of even coverage. Skin looks soft and dewy and, thanks to SPF 20, you’ll be extra protected from the sun.

6. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
Forget the abrasive alternatives: Dermalogica’s bestselling, award-winning formula uses rice bran and powerful natural enzymes to buff away your skin’s outer layers without any redness or irritation. Just add water to the unique powder to activate its superstar ingredients. Best of all, you can use it every day to keep your skin clear of the dead cells that can dull your complexion and cause breakouts.

So far I have used the microfoliant, which I really like. It's totally not abrasive and cleans your face well. I recc using a gentle face wash before you use the microfoliant.

Tomorrow I will do my first review/unbagging of myGlam bag!

So, new readers, This is me (with my beardy fiancee) ....
We have two fur children, Warhol and Ozzy, seen here:

We live in the boring state of Wisconsin, where I complain about the snow and humidity all the time.

I used to live in the beautiful city of San Francisco and moved back for Beardy up there.
I am slightly obsessed with Marc Jacobs, Betsey Johnson and Kate Spade. (I am waiting for the Betsey NYFW show to start as I type this....)

I love all things Backstreet Boys and still believe that I will meet AJ from BSB. (He got married last year...I was heartbroken.)

I go to school for Communication and hope to graduate within this next decade.

I own an orange car and her name is Sally Cobalta and she's currently sitting out in the snow that I will complain about right now.... Wahhhhh.

I love blogging so much and I meet all my BFFS blogging. I am so lucky.

So, introduce yourself!! I'd love to meet you!

My love story!!!

Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. – Emily Bronte
Linking up today with From Mrs. To Mama!
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
It will be four years in October. Three years engaged in May.
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?
Three weeks after I moved out to San Francisco, I flew back to be in my friend's wedding. This was September of 2008. Then, I was what I like to call a "make-out hussy." I was not looking for a boyfriend and loved my flavors of the week. I was the last bridesmaid standing up for my friend. It was a beautiful day in September on her family's farm.
I made a great impression on my now fiance's family the night of the rehearsal dinner. Jet lagged and lost, I rolled into the field where the wedding was held an hour late. They were already lined up and ready to walk back down the aisle.
At the rehearsal dinner, I was officially introduced to my now fiance, Mike. He was the one mooning us on the way to the hotel and eating the whole entire shrimp; tails and all at dinner. He seemed like a goofball. Strangely enough, I wasn't attracted to him when I first met him.
The day of the wedding, I was still jet lagged and exhausted from sleeping on the floor.
The wedding was perfect, beautiful and we couldn't have prayed for a better day. All that was left was the dinner and dance, where I was pretty positive I was going to get to know the Best Man.
Mike, was a total sweetheart, but I wasn't really into it. He tried to teach me how to line dance. I sat on the floor. He was rather drunk at the wedding, with his groomsman gift, a beer stein, always full. After his attempt of trying to teach me how to dance, I went to find the Best Man. The Best Man was drunk enough now not to care about who he was with, but I thought I really wanted to be with this guy. Mike's last attempt before I got to the Best Man's hotel room was when he asked me if I was okay. I said yes, just as the Best Man was dragging me up to the hotel room. Nothing happened up at the hotel room. (Being serious!) We made out and he tried to unzip my dress. After he revealed that he didn't know my name, I knew I had to leave. Mike, walked in just as I was zipping up my dress and walking out. Mike wasn't done trying to flirt. His last pick up lines were: "I know your name ELIZABETH" and "I am a bouncer at a bar." I gave him my number. He gave me his.
I flew back Monday and on my way back on the BART to the city, I texted Mike. It was the best decision I ever made.
3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell
Yep!! obviously. :)
4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
It will be a biggerish wedding and I hope to get married in our town...but sometimes I think it would be much easier to elope!!!
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Mumfy, Goose, Butt, Baby-cakes... Mike mostly calls me butt...no idea why.
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
Silly. Smart. I love that he can deal with my bad days.
7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
We got engaged in Vegas on vacation. I was completely oblivious to the fact that Mike was hiding the biggest question in our life. Vegas was our first big vacation: sun, pool and slots.
It was the day after our eight month anniversary. That day we had the best meal at Margaritaville, money was no object. It was the perfect day. That night Mike insisted on going to Paris. As a fashionista who was in love with Paris, I didn't deny. We got ready and left the hotel room. While in the hall, Mike said that he forgot his wallet. I didn't think anything of it. We had talked about how we wanted to get engaged before, but it never dawned on me that he would be proposing. We got to Paris Hotel and got our tickets. At this point I was a little suspicious, so I tried to search his pockets for a ring box. I couldn't find one. We slowly went up on the tower on the elevator. I am scared of heights, so I was starting to hyperventilate. When we got to the top, we got off and started to look around. The view was breathtaking. Mike started to talk "you are so beautiful and I love you so much" (this is when he pulled out my ring) "and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" I fell to my knees, so he didn't get to get down on one knee...but it was pretty magical.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Flowers for sure. But we don't really celebrate val-day much...the first val-day we had together, he got a tattoo. Yep. I am the best girlfriend in the world.
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Sunset on the beach would be AMAZING. I love sun.
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I would love to go on a cruise somewhere. I think that would be super romantic and fun. Maybe backpacking through Europe...(okay, no...but still.)
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
He probably is working so nothing, but that's okay. We can celebrate our love any
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I want a new pair of Steve Madden shoes... or Marc Jacobs. Obvi!!
13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Make sure you never go to bed mad.
14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.
This was the first time I came home to see him.

Pet Peeves and Little Quirks.

Everyone has pet peeves. Everyone has little quirks.
Here are mine:

Pet Peeves:
  • I hate the smell of food in my car. I don't eat in my car because of this. If we have leftovers from date night....it goes in the trunk until we get home.
we heart it
  •  I hate people who smack their food. Yuck. Just don't do it.
  •  Socks. I just hate socks. I don't know why...just do.
  • People who walk slow in front of you. Get to the side of the sidewalk!
  • Ice in soda.
  • Kids on leashes. Are they that hard to keep track of?
  • People who are slobs. I am not your maid.
  • I also have 2039209320 others from work, but I will save that for another day.
  •  I love the smell of books, magazines and papers.
  •  I have to sit the way the most people are coming in a restaurant or facing the the door.
we heart it
  • I always have to have ice in my water...and lemon.
  • I hate sand and dirt on my feet. It makes me feel gross.
  • I hate cake...frosting especially.
  • I will not eat chicken/beef if I see a vein or fat in it. SICK.
Now that I wrote those down, I feel kind of silly, but it's all true. Do you have any weird pet peeves or quirks?
